A strong, ruby-red color that is both clear and transparent. Its bouquet is fresh and young with notes of cherries and red currants. Its taste is lively acidic, well balanced with its structure and alcohol content. The finish confirms the notes in the bouquet. A young Valpolicella wine, pleasing and elegant. This wine can be preserved for two-to-three years even though it is a young and ready-to-enjoy wine.
Blend: 25% Corvina, 25% Corvinone, 30% Rondinella, 10% Molinara, and 10% Rossignola, Oseleta, Negrara and Dindarella
"This subtle red weaves cherry, pomegranate, pekoe tea, chocolate liqueur and lots of dried herb notes, backed by light tannins and acidity. Elegant overall, with a long, spiced finish. Drink now through 2016. 1,700 cases imported."
"The 2009 Valpolicella Classico Lucchine is a gorgeous glass of wine, especially for the money. There is nothing fancy here, just layers of plump, radiant fruit buffered by lively acidity. I can't think of too many finer wines for the money. This is a fabulous effort from Tedeschi. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2013."
