This vintage of Albariño is again much like one from its homeland of Spain; it has a briny, somewhat salty character. It is a bit floral, and has a mineral, wet stone nose. It tastes fresh and crisp, of tangerine zest and mandarin oranges, and has a honeyed richness along with nice acid balance. It is full-bodied, but with a soft mouthfeel, and finishes with the flavor of grapefruit. This wine is definitely the most versatile wine in the world with any kind of fish. I especially like it with sautéed scallops.
"A wonderful, amazingly rewarding wine, certainly one of California's best Albarinos. If there's any oak at all, it's insignificant. What stars is brilliant Edna Valley acidity and racy flavors of citrus fruits, pears, white flowers and white peppery spices. The perfect cocktail wine. Editors' Choice."
