Tamarack Cellars Merlot 2006
Merlot
from Columbia Valley, Washington
winemaker's notes:
A blend of 81% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Cabernet Franc.
Firm and focused on the palate this is one big Merlot. The flavors are almost piercing in their intensity with loads of classic dark cherry and ripe berry that lingers and becomes more intriguing in the mouth with the rich tannins. Huckleberry, black currant and cherry pipe tobacco entice the nose while flavors of chocolate, raspberry, black cherry and a bright acidity coat your tongue. This wine is heavily Red Mountain influenced - a great Merlot for Cab lovers.
"Displays dark, tarry accents to the black cherry fruit, finishing with a light grip of tannins. Firm. Best from 2009 through 2012." 88 Points

"This has black cherry fruit flavor in spades, along with blueberry and sweet blackberry. It's smooth to the point of softness, with fully ripe tannins and a sweet but firm finish with chocolate, cherries and coffee grounds." 89 Points
