I fell in love with the Taltarni Sparkling Wine..so thought I'd give the Sauvignon Blanc a try..I love SB..so food friendly..but domestic vintners have oaked it up too much..so I turn to the foreigners. This one I enjoyed. Not as much as a New Zealand or South African Sauvignon Blanc...but it was fresh, crisp, nice acid balance..aromas of gooseberry..its that scent you smell when you smell a good Sauvignon Blanc and don't know what it is..also a bit of lychee..like a sweet water chestnut aroma..some honey dew melon..Taltarni knows how to make food friendly wines...SB is a natural choice..this one was great with grilled Sea Scallops..lightly charred..the fruit of the wine brought out the succulent richness of the humble shellfish. Good value..give it a try!!
