We offer two ways to locate information:
The 2005 Swanson Oakville Merlot is an "iron fist in a velvet glove" wine, with the extract and power expected of its Oakville provenance, yet possessing the finesse, grace and complexity of a Right Bank Bordeaux. Smokey blackberry and black licorice aromas. Round, ripe and supple, with lingering thickness and fine-grained tannin on the palate, echoing very nicely the aforementioned aromas. While certainly drinkable today, this Merlot will continue to cellar nicely for 6 to 8 more years.
"Dense purple to the rim. Fresh plum and blueberry aromas with vanillin oak accents. Juicy and thick with ripe blueberry flavors and dusty, fine tannins. Excellent weight with lingering, sweet fruit."

"Big and bold in the nose with a wealth of ripe cherries tied to lots of very rich oak, this very solid Merlot is well-filled at every and all points and finds glimmers of tea-like complexity that are sure to intensify over time. It toughens a bit at the finish with a trim of Cabernet-like tannins taking hold, but this is one meant for keeping and looks to be a good bet for holding updwards of five or six years."
