Winemaker's Notes

The color is pale yellow with green hues. The nose is fresh, intense and continues with hints of fresh flowers and a hint of anise. The taste is dry, fresh, long and medium-bodied.

Perfect with fish soup, pasta with white vegetable sauce or pasta in broth.

Critical Acclaim

"
#75 Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2008

Lots of lemon, white peach and mineral character, with hints of orange peel and dry almond. Medium-bodied, with good acidity and a crisp finish, leaving a lingering citrus aftertaste. Racy, nervy and delicious. Minerally, almost flinty. Drink now."

"Suavia’s 2007 Soave Classico shows the complexity and character of this hillside site in its ripe yellow fruits, smoke, earthiness and minerals. The wine was very closed and reticent at the outset so I recommend opening it 30 minutes before serving to give it some air. Alternatively a quick double-decant should do the trick. This is a generous, full-bodied style of Soave that is sure to find many fans. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2010. "

It's hard to know why this made Wine Spectator's Top 100 for 2008 - the flavor is pretty bland. Not worth buying.

Then in 1982, a century...
