winemaker's notes:
Fruit for this wine is drawn from Sticks' established estate vineyard in Yarra Glen and from valued local growers. The fruit was cold soaked prior to fermentation to maximize color and flavor extraction. Maturation was initially on light lees in new and seasoned French oak, then racked and returned oak for maturation.
Sticks 2005 Pinot Noir has brilliant bright red color with purple tinges. The nose is of berries, with cherry, raspberry and strawberry with noticeable spice. The fresh red berries are evident on the palate with cloves and fine tannins.
Try this wine with mushroom risotto, duck fried rice or cheese and crackers.
