The nose is earthy with anise, cassis and cherry aromas and a light briary component. The wine's structure is big but its edges are soft and it is balanced with ripe blackberry, sweet black cherry, and toasted walnut and spice flavors from two years' aging in medium-toast French Alliers oak barrels. Blended with 3% Sangiovese and 2% Merlot.
