Rich and concentrated, this wine opens with aromas of black plum, vanilla, brown sugar and cinnamon. On the palate, flavors of black currant, roasted coffee and bittersweet chocolate are wrapped in velvety tannins. Notes of dark chocolate and raspberry jam lead to a long finish. Cabernet Franc and Petite Verdot were blended in to enhance the structure and mid-palate weight.
"The 2007 Oroppas (92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc) exhibits a more tannic structure as well as notes of cedarwood, roasted herbs, bay leaf, red and black currants, licorice, and toasty oak. It requires 2-3 years of bottle age, and should drink well over the following 20 years. Rating: 90+"
