Spy Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2007
Sauvignon Blanc
from Marlborough, New Zealand
winemaker's notes:
Sauvignon Blanc is grown in Spy Valley's Marlborough vineyard on stony riverbed terraces, gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks to give intense passionfruit and gooseberry fruit characters. The wine is fruit-driven in style, with complexity from lees aging for several months in stainless steel tanks before bottling. This wine is a classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc with intense flavors and crisp acid in a dry style.
Color: Pale straw
Bouquet: Passion fruit and ripe melon. Some underlying herbal notes and hints of mineral/flint.
Palate: The brightness of pure fruit flavors shines through on the palate. Lees aging of the vineyard parcels provides weight and interest, as well as balance to this wine.
