winemaker's notes:

With inky purple color, this wine reveals scents of wild strawberry, mocha, and caramel with touches of sage and rosemary. The flavors burst through with intense blueberry and strawberry jam notes wrapped around rich French oak and finishing with touches of milk chocolate, sweetened cranberries, and savory herbs.

This wine would be great with a number of intensely spiced dishes such as Korean BBQ, Teriyaki Beef, or your favorite spicy BBQ sauce on grilled chicken. Moussaka, or grilled elk loin would also work well for those a bit more daring. This Syrah can even stand up to a dessert of wild berries over a dark chocolate mousse.

"A fine Syrah that shows very good balance and complexity. The wine is bone-dry and pretty tannic, with a puckery astringency that provides a nice balance to the ripe blackberry, cocoa, pepper and grilled meat flavors." 87 Points,
Wine Enthusiast

I would not buy this wine again
I had a bottle of this in a 2005 during a dinner at a casino restaurant in Coos Bay, Oregon. It was so good I drank 3 glasses. I had it with a great Fillet. I bought a bottle of it and the second was as good as the original. I don't know what these people did to the 2006, but I certainly wont waste any more money on this 2006 wine. If I get thirsty I'll just get a glass of water.

Great for the price - 5/30/2008
I would buy this wine again
This has turned into one of my everyday favorites. A glass after work or before dinner goes nicely with mild to sharp cheeses. The wine in light and lacks a long finish, but is very drinkable. Great buy for the money.

  Very Drinkable Wine - 3/27/2008

I would not buy this wine again
For a wine under $10, this wine is delightfully drinkable. However, it is like other well made California wine: good with Chinese takeout but not memorable. Lacks depth of flavor; not complex. Very spicy food will overpower this wine.

Kosher
A Kosher wine begins like every other - as grapes on a vine. Once they reach the winery for crushing, the wine is under strict rabbinal supervision.
Screw Cap wine
Screw Cap
Many studies report and winemakers agree that screw caps protect wine better and preserve its flavor more effectively than cork. More importantly, screw caps eliminate cork taint caused by TCA, a compound which develops in a small percentage of corks and ruins the taste of wine.
