Alcohol By Volume: 12.5%

Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Varieties: 60% Verdejo, 25% Viura, 15% Sauvignon Blanc

Critical Acclaim

"Greenish yellow. A fragrant bouquet offers pear, lemongrass and mint, with zesty minerals gaining strength with air. Firm, finely etched citrus and herb flavors are refreshingly dry and pack solid punch. The citrus qualities linger on the long, mineral-tinged finish"
89 Points

"The 2009 Con Class is composed of 60% Verdejo, 25% Viura, and 15% Sauvignon Blanc. Light straw-colored, it has an expressive perfume of baking spices, spring flowers, and tropical aromas. Dry, crisp, and with excellent volume on the palate, this tasty effort will provide much pleasure over the next 12-18 months. It is another example of how special 2009 is in Rueda. "
