Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

The full-bodied wine is a vibrant yellow, with green tinge. Beautiful aromas of ripe pears and apricots, with hints of kiwi fruit and pineapples leaping out of the glass. A well-balanced wine with excellent structure and dimensions, and refined acidity. There is a lingering freshness in the finish.

This wine should be served slightly chilled as an aperitif, or with lighter seafood dishes.

Critical Acclaim

"Pale yellow. Lime peel, peach and flowers on the perfumed nose and palate. Rich, round and slightly sweet, with some unabsorbed carbon dioxide giving lift to the wine's fruits and flowers. Essentially supple, ripe chenin blanc with a slightly edgy, nicely dry finish."

This organization seemed to favor quantity over quality and had most...
