Simi Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 1998

Simi has made rich, powerful Cabernets from the Alexander Valley since the early 1900s. Our own estate vineyards provide most of the fruit, which is harvested with fully ripe, soft grape tannins. The ripe tannins contribute to a forward, fruit-filled wine that can be enjoyed while young without sacrificing ageability. Fermented in stainless steel, with secondary malolactic fermentation, the wine ages in French oak barrels for twelve months and is aged in the bottle for another 18 months before its release. A classic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, this wine is packed with ripe, black fruit flavors and hints of chocolate, cedar and mint.
