Winemaker's Notes

On land that has continuously supported vines since the beginning of the last century, our home vineyard is recognized as the third property planted to Cabernet Sauvignon in what would later become the Stags Leap District. Like its predecessors, this single vineyard wine displays the forward fruit, firm structure and supple, ripe tannins that helped define the District.

A cool, wet spring started the growth cycle off late and slow. A cool, but fair May resulted in a late bloom in June. A hot August followed a warm July giving the vines the warmth they needed to make up some lost time. Beautiful, clear and warm September and October days brought the grapes to ripeness. Harvest was marked by slightly lighter yields and smaller berries.

Tasting Notes: Aromas of olive, cherry, cassis and bay leaf. Full and rich cassis and plum fruit mix with black pepper, clove and sweet oak on the palate. A wine of refined balance marked by exceptional length.

Alcohol: 14% by volume

Thirty years later, three generations of Miller Family continue to source grapes entirely from their family-owned estate Napa vineyards. From...

The Napa wine industry really took off in the 1980's, when vineyard...

Either way, this grape is responsible, as a whole or a partner, for some of the greatest wines in the world. In Bordeaux,...
