The 2005 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon beautifully expresses the full aromatic ripeness of this exemplary vintage. It is full bodied and yet refined, and consistent in its color, aroma, palate and finish. It has a dark garnet color and a nose of black cherry, clove, cinnamon, lavender and licorice. It is seamless on the palate with a solid core of berry fruit, velvety tannins and excellent length. With proper cellaring it should give drinking pleasure through 2032.
"A classic Alexander Valley cabernet, this is dark and cedary, and as smooth as velvet. The tannins last, built on black cherry-skin flavor and earthy, root-vegetable notes. With time, that black cherry flavor should become more prominent, balancing the wines earthy complexities. Drink this over the next several years with anything meaty, from duck and game birds to steak."

I tasted this Vintage of the Alexander Valley offering in December of 2009. Not nearly as fruit forward as the 2004 with big boozy flavor upfront with only 30 min of decanting but evened out after about 2hrs. I recommend laying this one down another 2 yrs minimum to allow it to balance the acid, alcohol and tannins then it should drink very well. Otherwise typical silver oak flavors or dark fruit, leather, graphite and young oak. Ive always preferred the Alexander to the Napa because of the more subtle flavor profile but this one smacks you around a little at first...drink in 2011 and decant for at least an hour and I bet it will have balanced very nicely.
Iver & Christine brought this to the beach in 2010 and it was delicious.
Silver Oak rocks! Alexander Value is a better deal than the Napa, with near equal quality
