This wine comes from three proprietary vineyards: La Veguilla, Jararte, and Valgrande located around the towns of San Vicente de la Sonsierra and Labastida. Soils are calcareous clay with gravel. Careful hand harvesting of perfectly mature clusters with good sanitary conditions and additional selection made in the winery using a sorting table. The Rioja Crianza (100% Tempranillo aged 14 months in used American and French oak, and bottled unfiltered) exhibits a complex nose of roasted herbs, sweet cherries, earth, and vanilla. Medium-bodied, with attractively sweet fruit, decent acidity, and silky tannin, it can be enjoyed over the next 2-3 years. Bottled unfiltered.
