100% Tempranillo from two proprietary vineyards that are over 50 years old and organically fertilized. They are Los Terrenos and Jarrarte, located in San Vicente de la Sonsierra. Rioja Alta, one of the most famous towns in Rioja, is known for the quality of its grapes.

The 2004 Coleccion Privada is the product of a much better vintage. It received the same treatment as the 2003 but is a much more fruit-driven wine. The fruit is riper and sweeter, more layered and more nuanced. It is still a very young wine that merits 5-7 years of cellaring and should drink well through 2030."
