The 2012 Siduri Pisoni Vineyard Pinot Noir a big, rich wine with plenty of boisterous personality. It possesses great fruit and a rich, velvet like mid-palate. On the finish, a bit of the whole cluster character sneaks in, providing the wine with balancing backbone and tannins. The wine should age well for quite a few years, with the biggest challenge being holding them rather than drinking them.

Personally, I lean towards some of the more mineral-driven wines in this range, but the 2012 Pisoni will no doubt thrill readers who prefer dark, juicy, fruit-driven Pinots. Here, too, the wine's balance and sense of place are both impeccable.
Two Pinot Noir lovers, Adam and Dianna Lee, founded Siduri Wines in 1994. They produced only four and a half barrels of Pinot Noir that first vintage. Now they handcraft over 10,000 cases of Pinot Noir from vineyards ranging from Oregon's Willamette Valley down to the Santa Rita Hills and Santa Lucia Highlands AVAs. Each Pinot Noir is created using gravity flow and minimal intervention, with the goal of reflecting the unique terroir of each particular vineyard. The largest of California's wine growing regions, the Central Coast produces the majority of California's wine. The district sprawls out, covering most of the vineyard land between San Francisco and Santa Barbara. Alcohol By Volume GuideMost wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer.
