Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Shea's Willamette Valley Chardonnay delivers aromatics of pear, floral notes and jasmine with bright acidity and elegant balance on the palate. It is a very food friendly Chardonnay.

Critical Acclaim

"Shea Vineyards grows a small amount of Chardonnay all of which goes into their label. Only a small amount of new oak is utilized, 15% in the case of the 2009 Chardonnay Shea Vineyard. It gives up an alluring perfume of toasted nuts, poached pear, apple, and baking spices. Medium to full-bodied on the palate with layered fruit, it displays good volume, excellent balance, savory, dry flavors, and a moderately lengthy finish."
