Sequoia Grove Cambium Cabernet Sauvignon 2008
Cabernet Sauvignon
from Napa Valley, California
winemaker's notes:
This dark blackish wine shows intense aromas of fresh black cherries, sweet cedar and coffee, with dark/milk chocolate and wet gravel notes. Background traces of vanilla, cigar box and cinnamon toast linger. Full, rich, and round, the palate flavors are fresh blackberries, sweet cherries, bittersweet chocolate and cinnamon.
This complex wine pairs well with delicately-prepared dishes like pepper crusted tenderloin with mushroom cream and roasted asparagus.
Blend: 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot
critical acclaim:
"An extraordinary wine, this is one of the best offerings from Sequoia Grove. Everything is pitch-perfect: Its fine, ripe fruit flavors of blackberry, blueberry and black currant are balanced with earthy, herbal tones; its tannins are soft and rich, with a sharp acidity and a tasteful overlay of oak. Delicious as it is now, you’ll want to cellar this wine for at least six years."

"Exhibits a distinct loamy earth dustiness, with touches of sage, framing an elegant core of pure, supple dark berry and ending with a touch of charcoal. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2023."
