Sequoia Grove Cabernet Sauvignon 1996

1996 was an extremely small harvest. Traditionally in great wine producing areas, this means grapes of high intensity, color, flavor and tannins, and it is exactly what the 1996 harvest produced here. This is a classic 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the creation of Sequoia Grove from six outstanding vineyards in the Rutherford-Oakvile area. However, unlike previous years this very intense vintage needs a bit more time to open up for optimum enjoyment, but will of course age beautifully. Whatever wait might be entailed will be well worth it, as we feel this is one of the great years of the 1990s.
