Sella & Mosca Terre Bianche 2006
White Wine
from Sardinia, Italy
winemaker's notes:
Torbato, otherwise known as Malvoisie de Roussillon, is a vine of ancient origin brought to Spain by Phoenician merchants and introduced into Sardinia during Spanish domination. Today, Torbato is cultivated only on the Sella & Mosca estate.
Pale straw yellow with goldne hints from maceration prior to fermentation. Initially dominated by primary fruit aromas, associated with slow, controlled fermentation; from the second half of the year after the vintage, the varietal character comes through. Dry, fresh and rich, yet elegant, with a fruit-driven personality on the palate.
A perfect match for all fish cuisine, Terre Bianche is at its unforgettable best with shellfish.
