Oh my gosh! The best wine I have ever tasted for $12! I typically prefer Bordeaux style wine and I usually dont touch a wine under $15, so I was very reluctant to try it at a tasting, but now I am hooked. 3 years in the barrel gives this wine alot of character. It is light, fruity and perfectly balanced. Try it.

We were given this bottle as a gift from a restaurantuer. We really enjoyed the "light fruit" taste with our pasta & meat sauce. This was our first Sella & Mosca experience, and we will definitely look for it again.

I must agree with the reviewer from Illinois...this is an incredible find for the price. I've been hooked on pricey Pinot's for over a year so I was blown away when I discovered the Cannonau. Viva Sardinia! :-)

This 100% cannonau (grenache elsewhere) is surprising light and pleasant. A nice fruity bouquet lingers through the finish. Overall a great value for the price. Very drinkable now and does well on its own as well as paired with a light meat dish.

Cannonau is a grape that belongs just to Sardinia island.
Brought by the Spanish that invaded the island 700 yeras ago.
The wine at the color reminds me of a pinot noir, but he is deceiving in a positive way : in fact at the nose is much more bold and intense you would have expected from the pigments, with notes of red fruits, dried prunes and eucaliptus.
At the palate : a medium bodied wine, with good structure heritage of 2 years that the wine spent in large casks of slavonian oak, friendly tannins and seducing meatness.
If I have to think of an adjective for this wine, I would say : versatile !
It mingles with food : try it with some tagliatelle alla Bolognese, but also with a nice slice of grilled salmon with a lemon, oil, mint and oregano 'salmoriglio'.
