Sebastiani Cherryblock Cabernet Sauvignon 1996

The 1996 Cherryblock aroma shows the classic Cherryblock terroir of black olives and currants, plus mocha and truffles contributed by barrel aging. The flavor has a rich, opulent mouthfeel with concentrated blackberry flavors, olives, and typical Cabernet "dust" framed by ripe tannins. The finish has lingering berries due to the fully ripe fruit indicative of the 1996 vintage. Our 1996 Cherryblock Cabernet Sauvignon can be enjoyed now, and yet, the wine will further soften and gain more bottle bouquet and complexity over the next three to five years. It should peak around 2003 to 2005.
