Schug Sonoma Pinot Noir 2002

This silky Pinot Noir was produced in a style similar to a "Villages" burgundy. By aging the wine primarily in large oak casks (similar to the "cuves" of burgundian cellars), we emphasize bright varietal character by minimizing the extraction of heavy oak flavors or tannins. Its ripe flavors, reminiscent of cherries and strawberry jam, make it an ideal accompaniment to grilled fish and fowl or barbecued meats. Though enjoyable upon release, it will continue gain richness with additional cellaring.
