Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Moscato d'Asti is a unique wine where the beautiful aromas of the grapes are enhanced by a crisp, nice acidity, a light frizziness and the sweetness of the natural residual sugar. The low alcohol content makes it a very easy, pleasant wine perfect to finish a meal with dessert or alone, as a nice mid-day break.

Critical Acclaim

"Paolo Saracco is the Maestro. His 2010 Moscato d’Asti shows everything Moscato can be. It is an utterly impeccable wine layered with expressive fruit, floral aromatics and persistent minerality. Green apples, pears and spices linger on the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2012."
