Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

The wine is a blend of native Galician varieties - 75% Albariño, 15% Louerio, 10% Treixadura, 5% White Caiño and Godello. Clear and bright yellow staw in color, the nose is very aromatic with lemon, apple and peach fruit and balsamic, floral and mineral notes. It is very fresh, harmonious and well balanced with plenty of citrus fruit on the palate and a floral finish.

Critical Acclaim

"Santiago Ruiz’s 2010 Blend is made up of 70% Albarino, 15% Loureiro, 10% Caino, with the balance Treixadura and Godello fermented and aged in stainless steel. It offers up a fragrant bouquet of jasmine, nutmeg, lemon and other citrus fruits, and stony minerals. Complex and lengthy on the palate, this nicely proportioned offering will provide enjoyment for several more years. "
