We have added the following products to your shopping cart from a previous visit:
Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.

Full bodied wines that have concentrated fruit and are higher in alcohol and/or tannins. Some need age.
The pinnacle wine, exclusively from the best terroirs and grape selections, lengthily aged. 95% Carignano and 5% Bovaleddu, this fabulous red is so extract-rich and sugary the must has a hard time beginning fermentation! Maceration on the skins goes on for about 16 days, and élevage in Allier and Tronçais oak barriques lasts c. 18 months, previous to a further year and a half of bottle age. Cellar life: 7-8 years.
"The 2006 Carignano del Sulcis Superiore Terre Brune is an explosive, ripe wine graced with exquisite finesse in its dark fruit. It possesses considerable aromatic complexity as well as firm yet well-balanced tannins, both of which add considerable pedigree. Dark red fruit, flowers, licorice and sweet herbs are some of the nuances that are woven into the vivid, textured finish. This is a brilliant effort from Santadi. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2026."
The Wine Advocate
"Complex, showing mature notes of game, leather and caramelized mushrooms that follow through to a dark, supple core of plum sauce and dried wild berry. Well-balanced, with fine tannins and a long, savory finish."
"Deep saturated ruby. Expressive aromas of red cherry, blueberry and ink, lifted by musky spices. Sweet, smooth and very intensely flavored, with an opulent texture to its superripe red cherry, raspberry liqueur and strawberry jam flavors. Not quite as fine-grained as the 2007 Rocca Rubia but more luscious and soft in style, with perhaps a hint of residual sugar on the long, smooth, lightly peppery finish."

The arenaceous terrain of Sulcis’ coastline is unique in that pre-phylloxera rootstock
survives and thrives: the finely textured, wind-swept sand naturally prevents phylloxera from depositing its eggs!
Add to this one of Italy's legendary and brilliant oenologists, Piero Cella... and what you have can only be a range of true Sardinian gems.
Fairly removed from Italy, both geographically and culturally, Sardinia has more grazing animals than vineyards. An agricultural community, the small island is secluded. With high influences from Spain as much as Italy, the grapes of the region hail from both countries.

There are a multitude of grape varieties throughout the world, however, in a Darwinian sense, survival of the fittest only brings us wines made from grapes that can adapt to changing climates and winemaking techniques.
