This cabernet has a deep, ruby red color with fine brilliance. Its fragrant aroma evokes black currant, tar and wood notes originating from the barrels is was aged in. The taste has a concentrated body, rich in ripe almost sweet tannins.
Serve with steaks, game, hearty stews, casseroles and ripe, semi-creamy cheeses.
Great fruit, great color (deep purple), great nose (leather, tobacco, a hint of motor oil...a trait I've noticed in reds from Chile and Argentina that's actually quite good), nice finish with balanced tannins and bit of dustiness. Great wine for the price, but make sure it's the Medalla Real, the others just aren't as good.
