winemaker's notes:

Color: Very pale straw

Bouquet: A wine of pronounced personality, with beguiling citrus notes, suggestions of jasmine, ripe kiwis and gooseberries

Taste: Elegant and concentrated, with crisp, zesty acidity highlighting freshness and fruit

Serving suggestions: Excellent partner for poultry, pork, white meats, seafood and ceviche

critical acclaim:

"Bright and pure, with lots of mâche, sweet pea, chive flower and mineral flavors backed by a bright, tangy finish. This has solid length and richness. Drink now. 3,500 cases made."

Wine Spectator

"Reserved scents of slate, minerals and honey. Juicy flavors of lemon cream, green pineapple and cider. Continued impressions of ripe citrus in the lingering close."

90 Points

The Wine News

"The 2007 Sauvignon Blanc Floresta from the cool-climate Leyda Valley is a first class effort with an expressive bouquet of minerals, fresh herbs, grapefruit, and gooseberry. Round and complex, the wine has exceptional depth and concentration. Should be consumed over the next 1-2 years."

  SB worth the $20 - 9/16/2008
I would buy this wine again
Sometimes I find it hard to pay more than $14 for a good Sauvignon Blanc, but this one is totally worth it. Typical Chilean SB characteristics - citrus, grass - are backed by beautiful and structured acidity. There are layers here and a complexity not often found in the typical Chilean SB. Lingering finish that makes you come back for more.

Kosher wine
Kosher
A Kosher wine begins like every other - as grapes on a vine. Once they reach the winery for crushing, the wine is under strict rabbinal supervision.
Screw Cap wine
Screw Cap
Many studies report and winemakers agree that screw caps protect wine better and preserve its flavor more effectively than cork. More importantly, screw caps eliminate cork taint caused by TCA, a compound which develops in a small percentage of corks and ruins the taste of wine.
Green wine
Green Wines
Wines that use sustainable, organic and/or biodynamic practices in the vineyard and/or winemaking process. We rely on a number of U.S. and International certifications to qualify wines "green."
Collectible wine
Collectible
These wines will improve from additional bottle age, when properly stored, and may show the greatest potential to increase in value.

About Professional Ratings

These wine ratings are based on a 100-point quality scale, and are selected by each publication's unique criteria. Some wine ratings are expressed as ranges. When this occurs we will list the highest score in the range and note the full range within the tasting note.
