Santa Rita 120 Cabernet Sauvignon 2006
Cabernet Sauvignon
from Chile, South America
winemaker's notes:
Spends an average of eight months in small French and American oak barrels, resulting in an exceptionally round, mouth-filling wine. Ripe cherry and currant flavors, with a velvety finish. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
"Surprisingly powerful and rich in fruit for its price, this offers black currant and cassis over youthfully rustic tannins. Give it some pork."

I would buy this wine again
Its aroma is so beautiful, the opposite of earthy, light and airy, almost like flowers. It has a slightly dry, tart taste, and it's gentle enough to be matched with cornish hen, which I've heard it's not the traditional way. It worked really well regardless. I thought it was light bodied, one of my friends argued it was medium bodied. Clearly we're not experts, but we were all very impressed. I usually bring this along as my host gift.
