Sanford Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2005
Pinot Noir
from Central Coast, California
winemaker's notes:
The 2005 Sanford Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir is a blend from Sanford's estate vineyard, La Rinconada,
and the historic Sanford and Benedict Vineyard next door. A mix of vineyard blocks and several
different clones give this wine added complexity.
The 2005 Sanford Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir is a
deep violet red in color and bursts with Bing cherry, raspberry, pepper and clove aromas with a
slight hint of vanilla and licorice. The palate delivers wild berry flavors framed nicely by bright
acidity and supple tannins.

I have had this wine a few times and it is very good. A few others that had it with me thought the same thing. I prefer Oregon pinot noirs, but this one was excellent.
