Redolent with spices and soft smoked meat, this character-rich wine also possesses notes of blackkberries and tobacco, as a result of ageing in French oak barrels. Its mouth feel is rounded at the start, highlighting ripe red fruits and the sweet tannins that are typical of the variety.
The 2003 Salentein Syrah has excellent structure and concentration, balanced acidity and a long finish. Recommended aging: Six to eight years.
