Winemaker's Notes

Ruby red in color, with garnet hues. Riserva Ducale Oro 2004 shows typical Tuscan characteristics with violet, cherry, and plum aromas and hints of white pepper. On the palate, this benchmark of fine Chianti Classico has a massive structure and an elegant, fruity core accented by rosemary and thyme. Full-bodied and well balanced, Riserva Ducale Oro's sweet, round tannins lead into a long finish with notes of violets, nutmeg, plums, and sweet tobacco.

Critical Acclaim

"There’s a distinctive mineral aspect that sets this wine apart. Those aromas recall white stone or slate and enhance the wine’s elegance and food pairing potential. The mouth is bright and ripe with red cherry and fresh berry notes on the close. It would pair well with braised meat."

A burst of red cherries on the palate with a subtle hint of spice. This vintage provides a smooth and lingering finish. Definitely a must for those who enjoy a full-bodied, yet hauntingly smooth Chianti!
