Winemaker's Notes

Blend: 90% Sangiovese, 10% other varieties admitted by Chianti code production

Color: Ruby red

Aroma: As always, this Chianti features a deliciously vinous bouquet, where the floral and fruity notes lead toward a finish of slightly spicy scents of white pepper and hazelnuts.

Tasting profile: Medium-bodied, Chianti Ruffino is pleasantly fruity, harmonious and persistent.

This is a young Sangiovese which is a perfect match for a wide variety of traditional Italian dishes.

This is a superb Chianti for the price. Tastes just as good as more expensive ones in my opinion. Awesome with pasta.

Can't go wrong with this one. But you might check with your local wine merchant for a lower price.

Not one of my favorites. Plenty of flavor, just alot drier than my favorite chianti's.

Must be used--and you will only 'use' this wine because you can't enjoy it--with food to get the bad taste out of your mouth. Thousands of wines are better than this one at the same price

At their winery in Pontassieve, just outside of Florence, they began producing wines according to a strict quality standard and a rigorous technical research. Soon, Ruffino became an international symbol of the Chianti...

Learn About Sangiovese

Sangiovese (SAHN-gee-oh-VAY-zee) Blood of Jove (literally translated) The principal grape of Chianti - in fact, the principle grape of all of Tuscany - has had its ups and downs. For a stint in the 70s and 80s, wines labeled Chianti contained cheap red wine packaged in a straw casked bottle, most popular for the candle holder it would become. But no more. Sangiovese re...
