Roth Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2002
Cabernet Sauvignon
from Sonoma County, California
winemaker's notes:
From the same 53-acre hillside estate in the Alexander Valley that nurtures our ultra premium Lancaster Estate Red Wine, comes our first release from the 2002 vintage, Roth Cabernet Sauvignon. Our Roth label represents tremendous value from such pedigreed stock.
This estate grown and bottled blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, and 4% Cabernet Franc delivers black cherry, plum and cassis flavors with distinctive spice and tobacco aromas. After 18 months in French oak barrels (50% new) and an additional 10 months in bottle, this powerful and juicy wine displays integrated tannins and a long length in the palate.

Since this is Lancaster Estate Winery's second label, you can't go wrong. It's just as delicious but for half the cost!

Just yesterday, I went to buy a case of beer at my local wine and liquor outlet for a party I was throwing. Well they were having a wine tasting and the Roth 2002 cabernet was one of the wines. I did not go in to even purchase wine. Well I tried the Roth and was so blown away; I picked up a case immediately. This wine is so full in flavor and the finish seemed to last forever. I strongly recommend this for anyone who enjoys a fine wine.

Wow. I've been visiting Napa/Sonoma for 12 yrs. now and have never before found a wine so full of black fruits and loaded with luscious tannins. It's perfect with a steak or watching a movie. I hear it's also highly recommended by the local hot spot eatery, Cyrus and the local radio wine gal Ziggy from the KRUSH.
