Rosenblum Petite Sirah Pickett Road 2005
Petite Sirah
from Napa Valley, California
winemaker's notes:
Blend: 80% Petite Sirah, 20% Carignane
This Petite Sirah is bold, yet elegant. Bringing Carignane into the blend adds a
broader and softer dimension to the finished wine, along with a hint of rose petal
in the bouquet punctuated with currants, blackberry, pepper and earthy spice. The
flavors are of ripe dense blackberries, hints of vanilla, currants, black olives, and exotic
spices. While this wine should age from 12 to 20 years, don’t miss the opportunity
to experience it now.
Pair this beauty with deep fried, spiced chicken livers or a roasted duckling stuffed
with turnips.
"A fabulous offering, the 2005 Petite Sirah Pickett Road Vineyard exhibits a dense purple color followed by a sumptuous nose of blueberries, black currants, crushed rocks, and graphite. Full-bodied with admirable concentration and sweet tannin, it should evolve for 10-15 or more years."
