Rosemount Show Reserve Shiraz 2004
Syrah/Shiraz from Australia
A very rounded, soft and full flavored Shiraz from the region's 20 to 60 year old vines. This wine was matured for 18 months in a combination of new, one and two year old American and French oak.
Color: A deep, richly colored wine – red with purple hues.
Nose: The nose is generous with rich red fruit aromas, touches of spice, pepper, vanilla and crème brulée.
Palate: A complex wine with generous, lingering flavors. Rich, soft plum flavours meld with complex spice and pepper notes and touches of creamy, vanilla oak. The palate has an even, supple texture and finishes with great persistence.

View all Rosemount Estate WinesLike the United States, which is about the same size, Australia's winemaking regions are huddled into one or two pockets of the country. The state of South Australia, which produces about 60% of the country's wine, also has the most wineries and sub-regions, including McLaren Vale, Clare Valley, Coonawarra and Barossa Valley. New South Wales is home to the Hunter Valley, while the smaller, southern state of Victoria is best known for theYarra Valley. Head way west to the very large state of Western Australia and you'll find the tiny region of Margaret River at the southern tip.
