Light to medium bodied wines that are high in acid and light to medium fruit. Typically no oak.

Full bodied wines that have typically undergone malo-lactic fermentation and/or spent time in oak.
Displays a vibrant appearance and lively straw color. The aroma shows white peach and creamy notes, with an underlying savoury character, resulting from the oak and lees maturation. The palate displays a wealth of richly textured fruit with melon and fresh red apple flavours knitting seamlessly into the cashew-like oak and yeasty lees flavours. The wine has an elegant, dry finish, with sustained fruit and excellent length. In bottle, the wine will reward cellaring for up to ten years.
Established in 1969 by Robert Oatley and family in Upper Hunter Valley, Rosemount Estate has grown to include vineyards in the Mudgee, Orange, Coonawarra, McLaren Vale, Langhorne Creek and Adelaide Hills regions, as well as the Upper Hunter Valley. Winemaker Philip Shaw works with the Oatleys. The company's best-known wines are the Roxburgh Chardonnay, Balmoral Syrah and Mountain Blue Shiraz-Cabernet Sauvignon.
Like the state it's in, New South Wales, Hunter Valley is hot and the traditional grapes are Shiraz & Semillon. But Chardonnay has become a popular and very produced variety. The hot weather gets the grapes super ripe, which in turn makes most of the wines big and rich.
