winemaker's notes:
Shiraz is the most widely planted red grape variety in Australia. It is known for producing outstanding rich reds with a classic spicy finish. Shiraz has long been recognised for growing particularly well in the warmer and drier regions such as those of South Australia and Mudgee in New South Wales. In these environments, it achieves a richness of varietal character and depth of concentration that best suits our Diamond Label style.
The grapes for this wine were sourced predominantly from our vineyards in South Australias McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek, with a proportion from Mudgee in New South Wales and also Murray River Valley. In McLaren Vale, the long generous summers generally are tempered by cooling breezes from the Gulf of St. Vincent and Lake Alexandrina, whilst the night time cool of the Blue Mountains produces similar conditions in Mudgee. These cool periods enable the colour pigments and natural acidity within the fruit to stabilise, thus allowing the typically full, spicy flavours of the variety to ripen whilst retaining overall structural balance.

I saw another customer at a check out with a bottle and asked how it was. He said it was really good for the price. I bought a bottle the next time and found it to be really an excellent wine for the cost. I have to agree with the other reviews. It is a full bodied, slightly spicy with that hint of oak, with a slight fruity taste. I would recommend it anytime.

My wife and I were suggested this wine at a Bed and Breakfast and were instantly amazed. The rich tannins, spicy fruit, and deceptively smooth finish - what a great wine. We bought a case as our souvenier.

I was very (pleasently) suprised by this Shiraz. I am usually not a fan of Shiraz, but I am a fan of Rosemount, so I figured I would give thier Shiraz a go.
Rosemounts Shiraz is a wonderful Shiraz, full, spicy with a hint of oak. I liked thier Shiraz a tad better than I did thier Merlot, which was my favorite wine of thiers.
I highly reccomend it, and at such a great price, I think you'd be crazy not to pick up a bottle to find out for yourself.
