Rombauer Vineyards' 2007 Carneros Chardonnay is smooth, rich, and elegant, true to the Rombauer style. Apple, peach, and tropical fruit flavors weave together in a nice range of flavors that linger on the palate ending with a long, crisp, fruity aftertaste. The oak tones from both barrel fermentation and aging are nicely melded into the flavor and finish of the wine.
Rombauer Vineyards Carneros Chardonnay is ranked as the 3rd Most Popular Chardonnay in American restaurants according to a recent poll in Wine & Spirits magazine.
Winemakers comments: "We have a particular style that we've developed with that wine. I wouldn't call it buttery per se, but it is rich. Maybe some people might think it has buttery descriptors. We say it's fruit forward and that the oak is very integrated into the wine. Probably texturally it seems buttery."
