winemaker's notes:
Number 56 on the Wine.com 100 of 2007!
Rombauer Vineyards' 2006 Carneros Chardonnay is rich and full-bodied with peach, apple, and mango aromas and flavors. The creamy texture of asian pears and peaches glides across the palate and the light oak tones highlight the wine's complex and lingering finish.
"We have a particular style that we've developed with that wine. I wouldn't call it buttery per se, but it is rich. Maybe some people might think it has buttery descriptors. We say it's fruit forward and that the oak is very integrated into the wine. Probably texturally it seems buttery."

I suggest this Chardonnay be enjoyed at room temperature. Chilling it seems to take some of it's depth away. Each sip reveals new layers of taste and experience.

Rich and expressive. Great even if you normally just drink red wine like me.

My favorite Chardonnay each year.
