winemaker's notes:
Rombauer Vineyards' 2004 Napa Valley Merlot exhibits a ripe, juicy core of blueberry, plum, and black cherries that glide across the palate. Elegantly styled, this wine displays rich spice notes that highlight the fruit and add to the complexity of the wine. A full-bodied, round finish is accentuated with hints of cedar and vanilla.
"The 2004 Napa Valley Merlot was produced from selected vineyards between Napa and Calistoga. Each vineyard chosen was selected for it’s low vigor to insure small vines and modest canopy in order to provide the optimal sunlight for the fruit. By utlilizing this approach, we are able to produce a fruit with enhanced flavor and color, yet less herbaceous. This style of boutique winemaking in small lots produces a wine which is flavorful and soft."
