We offer two ways to locate information:
The harvest year of 1996 was to set the stage for the first Symmetry. A warm winter inhibited the bud set and rain during bloom reduced yield significantly. The crop was down, but quality high, since fewer grapes meant heightened intensity of color and flavor. A deep blackberry color captures the depth of fruit and spice in the aroma and flavors of Symmetry. A bouquet of wild mint, mandarin orange-peel and gardenia mingle with black licorice, white pepper and dark brown sugar. A firm tannin structure supporting a round and velvet - smooth texture is in perfect accord with flavors of blueberry, black cherry, dark roast coffee and almond. Licorice and vanilla flavors from a combination of American and French oak barrels contribute to outstanding balance and an expansive finish.
"Tight yet complex, with intense wild berry, mineral, sage and herbal notes that gain depth and complexity. Full-bodied, well-structured and in need of cellaring, this is reminiscent of a taut, young St.-Estèphe. Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Best from 2010 through 2016. 6,556 cases made. –JL"
