Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

This Russian River Chardonnay is a blend from different vineyard sites: 30% River Block Vineyard, 65% Mid 40 Vineyard, and 5% South River Vineyard. Aromas of ripe apple, tropical fruit, vanilla, and a touch of spice combine with rich apple flavors and crisp acidity. Its finish is long, rich, and balanced.

Critical Acclaim

"Ripe and expressive, with a range of baked apple, ripe pear, spice, nutmeg, mint and mineral flavors. Full-bodied, ending with a long, persistent finish that echoes a pithy grapefruit aftertaste. Drink now through 2017. 2,327 cases made."
