Actually, 3.25 stars. On the nose, the first thing I get is toasted oakiness, which I didn't very much enjoy. It was not too vibrant, but still was easy to pick. There are also some black fruits going on. Blackberry, a hint of blueberry, a hint of black licorice. There is also some heat coming through. There is also a hint of sweet tobacco! Midpalate, it is dry. It is very consistent to what I get on the nose. There are blackberrys and a hint of black licorice going on. Finish, this wine lingers in my mouth. It has a considerably pleasant long finish with some black fruits dancing on my palate and all over my mouth. It also has smooth and polished clean tannins. This is not a full-bodied bottle of wine. I would say medium to full bodied. It is well made and balanced and well put together. Bottled at 13.5%. However, I must disagree with RP (my favorite wine critic) when he scored this 95 pts. I am 91 on this effort. I really liked it. It is a sold bottle of wine, but 95 is way too high for this effort. Happy drinking!
