A near-perfect growing season brought out vibrant notes of citrus, pineapple, flowers, minerals and lemon grass in our 2000 Napa Valley Fumé Blanc. Barrel-fermentation and gentle stirring during aging in French oak barrels enhanced the elegant texture and lingering, spicy finish. Sip this refreshing wine as an aperitif or with a variety of delicate or spicy foods. Our associate winemaker, Richard Sowalsky, especially likes this Fumé Blanc with garlic-infused dishes, such as fettuccini with rock shrimp and garlic, or Tuscan roast chicken with garlic, lemon and herbs.

We first tried this surprising wine at Epcot's Food and Wine festival this past October.
The sharp, refreshing, mellow taste was particularly refreshing on a hot day. This wine performed as well under Florida "cold" evenings, and was even welcomed by a group of red wine enthusiasts.
