Decanting old wines, just a few moments before they are served, helps to ensure that the wines' clarity and brilliance are not obscured by any deposit that may have developed over time. Decanting young wines several hours before they are served gives the wine a chance to bloom and attain a stage of development that normally requires years of aging.
The Riedel Duck Decanter is a strikingly elegant piece of hand made crystal glassware. The elongated base provides a large surface area for aeration which will allow for the best characteristics of the wine to be showcased. The decanter stands 5 1/8" high and has a capacity of 31 3/4 oz. Made from 24% lead crystal.
