2007 was a very good year on all fronts, for both Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon. Proof positive: this dark, richly flavorful black currant yumster that boasts excellent balance and structure. We source grapes from Sonoma Valley mountain vineyards for this blend, as well as lots from Alexander Valley and Dry Creek. This vintage also has a good amount of fruit from Bedrock, Joel' vineyard in the banana belt of Sonoma Valley, which contributes its high-toned elegance.
"Dark red. Spicy, herb-accented cherry and blackcurrant on the nose. Bitter cherry and licorice flavors are framed by supple tannins and become sweeter with air. This is less tannic than the merlot, with a softer, more loose-knit finish but greater finishing cling."
